37 pools and bathing centres on the official list
Luxembourg's swimming pools, from the slides at Strassen to the Olympic pool in Kirchberg
visitluxembourg lists 37 pools and bathing centres. The big leisure pools are Les Thermes in Strassen (€18 for an adult day ticket in September 2026), Aquasud in Differdange, Syrdall Schwemm in Niederanven and AquaNat'Our in Hosingen; for serious lengths there's the Olympic pool at the Coque in Kirchberg, and in summer outdoor pools open at Remich, Vianden and Wiltz.

With children I'd go to Les Thermes or Aquasud and pay for the hours you need rather than the full day. If you've bought the LuxembourgPass, AquaNat'Our or the Bettembourg pool are free and worth the trip.

What I would keep in mind

01 To save money
Four pools free with the LuxembourgPass
AquaNat'Our (2 hours), Steinfort pool (2 hours), An der Schwemm at Bettembourg (90 minutes) and the Escher Schwemm in Esch are free with the pass, according to visitluxembourg.

At Les Thermes, pay by the hour
In September 2026 an adult paid €7.50 for 2 hours, €13.50 for 4 and €18 for the day. Weekends and public holidays add €1 per ticket, and overstaying costs €1.50 per half hour.

03 Most beautiful
A swim with Vianden Castle in view
Vianden's outdoor pool is heated, has a slide 6.5 m high and 65 m long and a refreshment bar looking out over the valley and the castle.

04 My tip
Thermal water is a different thing
The country's only thermal pool is at Mondorf Domaine Thermal, at 36°C. It's a paid spa with its own rules, and under-16s can only use the thermal pool.
Mondorf Domaine Thermal -
05 My tip
In summer, the lakes too
The lake bathing season runs from 1 May to 30 September, with 15 monitored zones on four lakes. The 2026 season is over and the 2027 one opens on 1 May.

My ranking, scored
The leisure pools, depending on what you're after
My score out of 10 for a visitor, weighing what's in the water (slides, pools, outdoor areas), the spa side, how easy it is to reach from the capital and the published price. It's my opinion based on the official listings.

D'Coque (Kirchberg)
Roger Taillibert's 1982 Olympic pool, for proper lengths and open from 6:30. Less for children to play with.
7.8 out of 10
For a country of 2,586 km², Luxembourg has a surprising number of pools. The official tourism website lists 37 pools and bathing centres, from school pools that open to the public for a few hours a week to 10,000 m² complexes with waves, slides and saunas. If you’re travelling with children, or just need a wet-weather plan, the question is which ones are worth the trip. Below is my shortlist, plan by plan, with hours and prices as published in the week I looked them up.
The big water parks
Les Thermes in Strassen, on the edge of the capital, is the most complete for a full day in the water. There’s a 25-metre, six-lane pool at 28°C, a learner pool, a paddling pool, a wave pool and an outdoor pool at 31°C, a giant 80-metre slide from age 6, a fast 30-metre one from 12 and the Space-Shuttle, three 70-metre slides. On top of that come 6 saunas and 2 steam rooms. What I like most is that you pay by time, from €7 for 90 minutes to €18 for the day for an adult in September 2026.
Aquasud at Oberkorn, in Differdange, plays in the same league, with 10,000 m², six indoor pools including a 25-metre one, and play and paddling areas. The spa and gym are for over-18s, with five saunas, two of them outdoors, a steam room, a cold plunge and a jacuzzi, and there are 520 parking spaces. One warning, though. Its outdoor pool was closed for renovation and expansion, although the indoor side is open all year.
Worth leaving the city for?
That depends on where you’re staying. Syrdall Schwemm in Niederanven is close to the airport, and for a quiet afternoon it gets my vote. It has a huge glass frontage with views, a lawn and outdoor play area in summer, two Finnish saunas, a bio sauna and a steam room, and in that same week it opened 7:00 to 22:00 Tuesday to Friday. Up north, AquaNat’Our in Hosingen covers more than 3,500 m² with a children’s pool, saunas and a gym, and it was open every day until 21:30.
In the south, An der Schwemm at Bettembourg has the Black Hole, a 40-metre slide with sound effects and LED strobes, a waterfall and a paddling pool with a mini slide, and an adult ticket cost €5 for 90 minutes. The Escher Schwemm, beside Park Laval, is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the centre of Esch-sur-Alzette. And just north of the capital, visitguttland lists the PIDAL pool in Walferdange, with saunas, a spa and a restaurant.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Luxemburgo on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
Lane swimming in Luxembourg City
For proper swimming, head to the Coque in Kirchberg. Its Olympic pool opened in 1982 beneath a shell-shaped concrete roof by Roger Taillibert, who extended it in 2002 to create the National Sports and Cultural Centre. Its published hours on 30 September 2026 were 6:30 to 22:00 Monday to Friday, and it runs aquafitness classes.
The neighbourhood pools are more modest. Bonnevoie has a main pool with an adjustable floor from 1.80 to 3.80 metres, a smaller pool, a sweat bath and a solarium, and closes on Wednesdays. Cents, 25 by 15 metres, lets the general public in only at weekends (Saturday afternoons until 20:00 and Sunday mornings), and Belair is for schools and clubs only. The Badanstalt in the centre has a pool with water jets, two saunas and a Turkish bath, but its listing had it shut on all seven days from 30 September to 6 October 2026, with no reason given. I’d phone first.
The summer lidos
Between May and September the tourist board recommends the outdoor pools at Remich, Wiltz and Beaufort, and I’d add Vianden for the view. It’s heated, with a slide 6.5 metres high and 65 metres long and a refreshment bar looking up at the castle. Remich’s heated pool by the Moselle opened from 15 May to 15 September in 2025, 10:00 to 19:00. The Kaul in Wiltz opens daily from mid-June to mid-September, and Beaufort’s Aqua Park, with a 50-metre slide, from mid-May to early September.
There are others. Troisvierges has a 45-metre slide and a current channel, Grevenmacher charged adults €10 for the day and Rosport, at the Camping du Barrage, €5. They’re seasonal and their published dates end in September, so from October I’d count on indoor pools until they reopen in May or June 2027.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Luxemburgo on Expedia and filter by area before price.
Thermal baths, spa hotels and lakes
None of these has thermal water. The country’s only thermal pool is at Mondorf Domaine Thermal, at 36°C, and its prices and house rules are in my guide to Mondorf spa. For a hotel with its own pool and saunas, my list is in spa hotels in Luxembourg. The four lakes with monitored zones are the other summer option, since the bathing season opens on 1 May and closes on 30 September (the 2026 one is over). I cover them in swimming lakes in Luxembourg.
How I’d fit a pool into a trip
With children on a rainy day, Les Thermes in the morning on a four-hour ticket. With the LuxembourgPass, I’d use it at AquaNat’Our or Bettembourg, which are free. And if you swim every day at home, the Coque first thing, before you start on the city.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in Luxemburgo and pick one that fits your day.
Where the bus does not go, a car does: compare car hire in Luxembourg before you arrive rather than at the desk.
If you still need a way in, check the best ticket deals to Luxembourg from where you are.
