El Tarter and Ransol, parish of Canillo
Tarter Mountain Suites, apartments with a fireplace by Grandvalira
Tarter Mountain Suites & Chalets lets mountain apartments, lofts and chalets in two complexes, Sant Pere del Tarter in El Tarter and Sant Jaume de Ransol in Ransol, near Grandvalira and the Incles valley. Units sleep 2 to 9 with equipped kitchens, Wi-Fi and parking, and some have a fireplace or balcony. Check-in runs from 4pm to 8pm.
For a group or a big family wanting to cook and spread out, a two-bedroom flat with a fireplace in El Tarter beats two hotel rooms to my mind. For a couple, only if you're after independence.

What I would book
- Places to stayBooking.com Tarter Mountain Suites for your dates Compare with its own website, which promises the best price and discounts for booking early or last minute.

Tarter Mountain Suites isn’t a hotel, and it’s worth being clear on that before booking. It’s a set of mountain apartments, lofts and chalets spread across two spots in the parish of Canillo, El Tarter and Ransol, designed for people who want to cook, have space and come and go freely. It’s one of the most searched-for places to stay in El Tarter, and for a group it makes a lot of sense.
Two complexes, El Tarter and Ransol
Mountain Suites Sant Pere del Tarter sits in the development of the same name, next to Grandvalira and near the Incles valley. It brings together apartments and chalets for 2 to 9 people, with equipped kitchens, generous living areas, Wi-Fi and parking, and in some units a fireplace or balcony. There are duplexes in a private development a few minutes’ walk from the El Tarter gondola and alpine-style chalets about five minutes away.
Mountain Suites Sant Jaume de Ransol is in Ransol, a quiet village very close to El Tarter and the Incles valley. It’s the choice for anyone who puts peace ahead of being right by the slopes.
How does arrival work?
Check-in runs Monday to Sunday, 4pm to 8pm. Arrive later and there’s self check-in, with a safe by reception where a code opens the envelope holding your keys and directions. The next morning you call at reception with the ID card or passport of every guest for the official register. Check-out is by 11am.
The booking includes bed linen, towels, heating and welcome toiletries. There are three rates, non-refundable, flexible at 7 days and flexible at 14 days.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Tarter Mountain Suites, El Tarter on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
Discounts for booking early or late
The website offers a variable discount of 5 to 15% for booking at least 120 days ahead, 5 to 10% for arrivals within the next 15 days, depending on demand, and special prices for stays of 12 nights or more in low season. If you’re going to ski, check the dates in the ski season and book early. More options like this in apartments in Andorra.
Getting there and around
According to the Comú de Canillo, the L4 stops at El Tarter on its way between the capital and Pas de la Casa. By car, Grandvalira says the 350-space Àliga car park at El Tarter is free. For non-skiers, the Incles valley opens between El Tarter and Soldeu.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Tarter Mountain Suites, El Tarter on Expedia and filter by area before price.
Does it suit your trip?
It suits groups of friends and big families skiing several days who want to cook, because one unit for nine works out better than several hotel rooms. For a couple who only want to sleep and go out for dinner, a hotel in the centre of Soldeu or El Tarter is more convenient, since reception here isn’t open all day and the cooking is up to you. Book early for the best discount.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in El Tarter and pick one that fits your day.
