Coll d'Ordino road, Ordino
Abba Ordino Babot Hotel, a mountain chalet with a pool above Ordino
The abba Ordino Babot Hotel is a three-star with 53 rooms on the Coll d'Ordino road, in a rustic mountain chalet. It has a heated outdoor pool from 1 June to 11 September, a paid spa for over-16s, the 1425 restaurant serving local food, free outdoor parking and, in winter, a free bus to Ordino Arcalís on request.
For a family in summer, with a pool, garden, barbecue and playground, it's one of the best in Ordino to my mind. In winter I'd choose it if you're skiing Arcalís, because the free bus saves you driving.

What I would book
Few hotels in Ordino get as many searches as the abba Ordino Babot, and that makes sense. It’s a rustic mountain chalet on the Coll d’Ordino road, with 53 rooms, a pool in summer and, in winter, a free bus to the ski area. The hotel bills itself as a friendly three-star.
Rooms for couples and families
The 53 rooms sleep up to four, and there’s plenty of choice. There are the abba rooms, with a balcony or terrace, Family rooms for three and four, a Family Duplex on two levels and, above them, the Premium range, with a double, a triple, a family room, a Junior Suite and a Suite. For a family, I’d go for the Duplex. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by noon.
Summer by the pool, winter on the slopes
In summer, the hotel has the edge. The heated outdoor pool opens from 1 June to 11 September, and there are gardens, a guest barbecue area, a children’s playground and a tennis court with kit on loan. More ideas for travelling with children in Andorra with kids.
In winter, transport is the key. Ordino Arcalís is about 20 minutes away and the hotel offers the free communal bus to the ski area, booked in advance. The La Massana gondola, heading for Pal, is about 10 minutes away. Andorra la Vella, Escaldes and Caldea are around 20.
Once your dates are set, check which hotels are still free in abba Ordino Babot Hotel before prices climb.
Spa, restaurant and dogs
The spa has a hot tub, waterfall and rain showers, a heated bench with hammam, a sauna and a relaxation room. It costs €15 per hour per person, for hotel guests aged 16 and over only. The gym is free. Restaurant 1425 focuses on local cooking with regional produce, and breakfast comes as an express option from 6am to 7.30am or a buffet from 7.30am to 10am.
Dogs up to 20 kg are welcome for €30 a night, one per room and not in the Premium rooms, with a welcome kit. Outdoor parking is free; covered parking is €14 a night. The parish’s other options are in hotels in Ordino, and the village itself in Ordino.
Getting there and what to see
The L6 climbs to Ordino village every half hour on weekdays, but the hotel is on the pass road, so I’d come by car. In the village you have Casa d’Areny-Plandolit, and at the head of the valley, the Sorteny Valley Nature Park. It’s not the one for walking out to dinner every night, because the hotel is outside the village centre, on the Coll d’Ordino road. For a trip with a dog and a car, on the other hand, it’s one of the most convenient in the parish, as outdoor parking is free and dogs get a welcome kit. Book the covered parking ahead in winter. In summer, ask whether the pool is open on your dates.
Once your dates are set, check which hotels are still free in abba Ordino Babot Hotel before prices climb.
