Hotel Les Closes, staying on Escaldes' shopping avenue

Hotel Les Closes is a three-star hotel with 78 rooms at number 93 on Avinguda Carlemany in Escaldes-Engordany, right on the shopping street and close to Caldea. It has rooms for one to four people, is adapted for reduced mobility and has two restaurants, Les Closes, serving home cooking, and Noranta Tres, which is vegetarian.

I'd pick it for a car-free weekend of shopping and Caldea, because everything is on foot. It isn't a hotel for views or quiet, it's a hotel where you step out of the door and you're on the avenue.

What I would book

Hotel Les Closes is one of the most searched-for hotels in Escaldes, not for luxury but for location. It’s at number 93 on Avinguda Carlemany, right on central Andorra’s shopping street and close to Caldea. It’s a 78-room three-star with a friendly, family feel, according to its own website, and for a car-free weekend of shopping and spa it strikes me as about as practical as it gets. Another three-star nearby in high demand is the Hotel Espel.

Rooms for one to four

The hotel has singles, which are doubles for single use, doubles with twin beds or a double, triples and quadruples for families. All have a full bathroom, air conditioning, heating, TV, safe and phone. On top of that, it’s adapted for people with reduced mobility.

Two very different restaurants

Restaurant Les Closes is open all day, from breakfast to dinner, with home and market cooking, tapas, wood-fired pizzas and Andorran dishes such as trinxat and escudella. It boasts more than twenty years in business and works with local suppliers.

Noranta Tres sits in the lobby and is vegetarian, using fresh, organic, local produce, for breakfast, brunch or lunch, with the kitchen open non-stop from 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday. For a vegetarian traveller, I’d count that as a strong point. More places to eat in where to eat in Andorra.

Shopping, Caldea and booking

From the door you’re on Avinguda Carlemany, Escaldes’ shopping street, and Caldea is close. In summer 2026 Caldea itself sold a package of Classic entry with a night at Les Closes, which I list with the rest in Caldea deals and discounts.

Booking on its website, the hotel promises the best price, flexible cancellation and, subject to availability, a room upgrade and free early check-in or late check-out, plus a web offer with 10% off. To compare with the rest of the parish, see hotels in Escaldes-Engordany.

Getting there

If you’re flying into Barcelona, the direct coaches reach Andorra la Vella, and from there the L1 and the Bus Exprés bring you up to Escaldes. Within the parish, you can walk almost everywhere from the door.

If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Hotel Les Closes, Escaldes-Engordany for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.

Is it your hotel?

I’d recommend it to couples and families coming for the shops and Caldea, and to vegetarians. I wouldn’t choose it for skiing, because the slopes are a drive away, or for anyone after mountain silence. If you can’t decide between Les Closes and the Hotel Espel, the Espel is five minutes’ walk from Caldea and has its own garage; Les Closes wins if eating well in the hotel matters to you, especially as a vegetarian, and if you want to step straight out onto the avenue. For a first trip to Andorra without a car, it’s one of the easiest bases in Escaldes. Families with teenagers will like having the shops and the thermal lagoons on the doorstep.

So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Escaldes-Engordany on GetYourGuide.

If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Andorra la Vella: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.

Before you fix your dates, compare tickets to Andorra la Vella: the same journey can cost very different amounts from one day to the next.
