Carretera General, Soldeu, Nexta group
Hotel Piolets Soldeu Centre, the four-star facing the slopes
Hotel Piolets Soldeu Centre is a four-star hotel run by the Nexta group on Soldeu's main road, facing the Grandvalira ski area. It has refurbished rooms, some with mountain views and some sleeping four, a buffet restaurant with show cooking, a wet area with an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, and paid parking at €24 a day.
I'd pick it for a family ski week on half board, since it has everything you need at the foot of the slopes and rooms for four. If you want quiet nights, be warned that the hotel makes a point of its in-house après-ski with music.

What I would book
- Places to stayBooking.com The Piolets for your dates Compare it with Nexta's own site, which gives free guided activities to direct bookers. Check the room's view.
- Places to stayBooking.com Other hotels in Soldeu Soldeu has ski-in hotels across several categories. If you want five stars or somewhere quieter, compare first.
The Piolets is the most-searched Soldeu hotel among Spanish travellers, and I can see why. It sits on the village’s main road, facing the Grandvalira ski area, and has almost everything lined up for a hassle-free ski week. It belongs to the Nexta group, which runs several hotels in Andorra, and bills itself as a ski-in four-star. Its sister hotel in the village is the Hotel Himàlaia Soldeu. If the budget stretches further, the village’s big spa is at the Sport Hotel Hermitage.
Refurbished rooms and rooms for four
The website describes the rooms as fully refurbished. There are twins looking onto the street, bright doubles, doubles with a mountain panorama and quadruples for families. I’d pay the difference for the mountain view, because on the main road through Soldeu the street is just that, a street.
For a family with children, the quadruples and the play space, always with an adult present, are the two things that tip the balance.
The wet area, at extra cost
The hotel has a heated indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and gym, plus a sun terrace looking onto the slopes. What you should know is that the wellness area carries an extra charge. The website puts it at €14 an hour for adults and €10 for under-12s. If you’d rather have the warm water included, some hotels put the spa in the price, and they’re side by side in Andorra’s spa hotels. Something simpler of wood and stone by the gondola is the Hotel Soldeu Maistre.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Hotel Piolets Soldeu Centre on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
Eating and unwinding without leaving
The restaurant is a show-cooking buffet at breakfast and dinner, with options for different dietary needs and views over Grandvalira. The hotel also makes a point of its après-ski, with music and a lively atmosphere, for those who’d rather not go out after skiing. That’s a plus if you’re in a group and a minus if you want an early night.
Parking, activities and the snow guarantee
Parking is €24 a day, subject to availability on arrival, and there’s an EV charging point on the same basis. Nexta runs free daily activities with mountain guides for guests who book on its website, and applies a snow guarantee at its Andorra hotels against exceptional changes to when the ski areas open or close. Season dates are on the ski season.
If you’re weighing it against the village’s other beds, from the Hermitage to the apartments, they’re all in hotels in Soldeu. By public transport, the L3 ends in Soldeu. If you drive and the hotel has no space, there are Grandvalira’s two covered car parks. For a family skiing all week, it’s one of the most practical options in the village; for a couple after peace and quiet, the Himàlaia is the better bet. In summer, the hotel works as a base for the Incles valley walks too.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Hotel Piolets Soldeu Centre on Expedia and filter by area before price.
