Skiing after dark in Andorra, where and on which pass

Night skiing in Andorra exists, but it helps to know from the start that it’s a small offer and all in one corner of the country. There’s no network of floodlit resorts. There’s one run in Pas de la Casa, one snowpark at Peretol and, for anyone skinning uphill, a few evening routes at all three resorts. With that in mind, here’s how I’d fit it into a ski week. If you’re on a package in Soldeu or Pas de la Casa, it may already be included in what you’ve paid for.

The Tubs run in Pas de la Casa

The only downhill run Grandvalira opens after dark is the Tubs, in the Pas de la Casa sector. It’s lit once the rest of the area has closed at 5pm, the La Solana chairlift keeps turning to take you back up, and the resort itself calls it suitable for everyone. Think of it as a way to stretch the day rather than a black run for experts.

Grandvalira hasn’t published the 2026-27 opening times yet and stresses that it depends on the weather. I wouldn’t assume it runs every night. The sensible move is to check on the day in the Andorra snow report, which lists what’s open run by run.

Last winter the neighbouring Grau Roig sector also stayed open until 7pm on February weekends, with two Pessons drag lifts. That was a 2026 one-off and nothing has been announced for 2027, so don’t plan half-term around it.

Which lift pass do you need at night?

This is where people pay twice without realising. If you’ve got a day, multi-day or season pass, or the pay-as-you-go Plus+, you don’t need anything else, because all of them work on the Tubs. That covers most lift passes bundled into a UK package holiday. The one that doesn’t count is the pedestrian pass.

If you only want the evening, the night pass is €28.50. It’s one of Grandvalira’s few fixed prices, the same for adults, juniors and children, with one catch. It isn’t sold online, only at the Pas de la Casa ticket offices and machines. Everything else about tickets is in my guide to the Andorra ski pass.

The Sunset Park at Peretol

For freestyle skiers and snowboarders, the evening session is at the Sunset Park Henrik Harlaut, in the Peretol sector between Soldeu and Grau Roig. It’s open Tuesday to Sunday from 3pm to 9pm, you drive in from the main road and park at the bottom. Grandvalira calls it the only night snowpark in the Pyrenees, and says it’s the only resort in southern Europe with three snowparks. The Peretol pass costs €26.

I like where it is. If you’re based in Canillo, El Tarter or Soldeu, you get there on the main road without crossing the Envalira pass at night, which matters more than you’d think after a long day.

Other ways to be on the snow after dark

Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís have no floodlit downhill run, but all three resorts open uphill routes for ski touring after closing. In Soldeu, El Tarter, Pal and Arinsal you can go up and down set routes until 10pm, and in Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa and Arcalís until 8pm. You’ll need a Mountain Pass and to follow the rules, which I set out in ski touring in Andorra. Between 10pm and 7am the ski areas are off limits.

If skiing isn’t your thing, Grau Roig runs snowmobile trips at 6pm and some mountain restaurants serve dinner you reach by piste basher or snowmobile. That’s all in snow activities in Andorra.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as an extra. A multi-day Grandvalira pass already includes the Tubs, so night skiing costs you nothing if you finish the day in Pas de la Casa. What I wouldn’t do is drive over from La Massana or Ordino just for one floodlit run, with the Envalira pass in between and the chance that wind or snow keeps it shut that night. Winter equipment is compulsory on Andorran roads from 1 November to 15 May, so check your hire car has chains or winter tyres before you leave Toulouse or Barcelona.
