Inúu, the child-free corner of Caldea

Inúu is the word that turns up next to Caldea whenever someone without children is doing the searching. It’s the adults-only part of the thermal complex in Escaldes, and what people want to know is simple enough, what it has, how it differs from the rest and whether it’s worth it. What follows is what I could verify, which falls short of what I’d want.

What Inúu is

Caldea itself described it on its blog as its adults-only spa. An Inúu ticket also covered the Termolúdic, Caldea’s big spa, and Orígens, home of the grapefruit bath, so you could use every lagoon, sauna and hammam. The robe, flip-flops and towel were lent to you.

What made Inúu different was the mood and a few spaces of its own. There was an outdoor lagoon with thermal water loungers, designed for staying out after dark to look at the stars, and on its terrace the highest jacuzzi in the whole of Caldea. There were workshops too, from Tibetan singing bowls to mindfulness in the indoor lagoon. All of this comes from Caldea posts from 2024 saved on archive.org, because I couldn’t read its current website.

How Inúu fits with the 2026 tickets

Here’s my honest caveat. In its August 2026 FAQ, Caldea sells three access types, Classic, Plus and Premium, and no longer describes Inúu as a separate ticket. It only names it when explaining the three- and five-day passes. The Premium ticket, for over-16s, gives four hours across the whole complex with robe, towel and flip-flops included, and Caldea calls it the ideal ticket for couples.

I can’t confirm whether Inúu is sold under its own name today or folded into Premium. What I’d do is go to caldea.com, see which access mentions Inúu and buy it there. Everything else about tickets, ages and rules is in my guide to Caldea spa.

The private spa, the real treat

Of everything Caldea said about Inúu, the Private Spa interests me most. Caldea described it as a space just for you and your partner, or groups of up to four, with a private jacuzzi, colour-therapy showers, hammam and sauna, plus the option of a couples’ massage. Andorra Turisme’s current listing still mentions couples’ massages and a private spa at Caldea, so the idea lives on. For an anniversary, that’s where I’d put the money.

Inúu or the Termolúdic?

This question comes up a lot, and the answer depends on who you’re travelling with. The Termolúdic is Caldea’s main spa, with the central, outdoor and panoramic lagoons, open to children from age 5. It’s lively, full of currents, waterfalls and families, which has its own appeal. Inúu, as Caldea described it, was the opposite, a child-free space, quieter, with its own outdoor lagoon and terrace.

With children in tow there’s no debate, because Inúu isn’t for them and the Classic ticket covers the best of the Termolúdic. If it’s just adults and you want rest rather than splashing about, I’d pay for whichever ticket opens the adults-only area. One practical point, Caldea’s FAQ still lists three- and five-day passes for the Termolúdic and Inúu, valid until 30 November of the same year, which work out cheaper than buying single tickets.

Getting there

Inúu is inside Caldea, at Parc de la Mola 10 in Escaldes-Engordany. There’s a round-the-clock public car park under the same roof, run independently of Caldea, and the L1 national bus, which runs from Caldea to Sant Julià, stops close by. If you’re staying in the upper town, you can walk. Arriving from Barcelona or Toulouse by coach, you’ll come into Andorra la Vella, a short bus ride or a long walk away.

My tips for a couple’s break

Go midweek, first thing or late, when it’s quietest. Book ahead on caldea.com, which Caldea says works out cheaper than buying at the last minute, and never on look-alike sites, because the spa has flagged one selling fake tickets.
