In Bled I'd look at the Savica for a family trip without lakeside prices. I'd ask for a balcony room, use the thermal pools at the hotel next door and eat out, as only breakfast is served here.

where to eat in Bled
A garni hotel with a green label
What the chain highlights most is its ecological character. The hotel holds the EU Ecolabel daisy and the Slovenian Tourist Board’s certificate under the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism, and runs its own programme called Green for Tomorrow. Day to day that means small things, such as sorting waste, switching off lights and taps, reusing towels, using returnable glass containers and serving breakfasts of local, seasonal produce. It isn’t a luxury hotel and doesn’t try to be.
Rooms and apartments
As well as standard doubles, it has connecting rooms, handy for families or groups of friends, and apartments with kitchens. Most rooms have a balcony with a view of the park. For families, the chain offers Zaki’s Bonus Card, with perks to keep a Bled holiday affordable, and in some packages and room types up to two children are included in the price.
Thermal pools and meals
The Savica has no pool of its own, but it’s a few steps from the Rikli Balance Hotel, and its guests get free entry once a day to the Živa pool complex, with thermal water and an indoor slide. Next to it is the Živa wellness centre, with Alpine-inspired treatments. Breakfast is served in the hotel’s own restaurant, and guests on half board have dinner at the Rikli Balance. For lunch and dinner on your own, see the guide to restaurants in Bled.

The rest of Sava in Bled
The Savica is part of Sava Hotels Bled, which according to the chain brings together four hotels, two glamping sites, a campsite and three wellness centres in the village. The hotels are the Grand Hotel Toplice, the only one with the lake’s thermal water unheated and fully under renovation in 2026, Hotel Park, the Rikli Balance Hotel, which is the neighbour where you swim and dine, and the Savica itself. The campsite and the glamping sites sit by the lake at the far end, for those who would rather sleep outdoors. Within the group, the Savica is the plain, practical option, and it makes most sense if you plan to spend your days out rather than in the hotel.
Who the Savica suits
I see it as a good base for people who come to Bled to get out and about, to walk around Lake Bled, climb the viewpoints or ride around the area, and who don’t need to spend the day in the hotel. If you want lake views from your room or a gourmet restaurant, there are other options in the guide to hotels in Bled. Before booking, check on the Sava website what each rate includes, because room-only rates and packages differ a lot.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Hotel Savica Garni on GetYourGuide.
