- In Limassol's Municipal Gardens.
- In 2026, from 26 September to 4 October.
- Music, dancing, theatre, workshops and tastings.
I'd go on a weekday evening, hungry and without the car. It's the best way to try several Cypriot wines in one go and to see traditional music and dancing in the same place.

What I would book
Few events sum up a town as well as the Limassol Wine Festival. It’s the grape harvest turned into an urban party, with music, dancing and wine in the Municipal Gardens. The 2026 edition has just finished, so here’s how it went according to Limassol’s tourism board and the Cypriot press, and what to expect next time. The rest of the festivals are in events in Cyprus.
The 2026 edition
It ran from Saturday 26 September to Sunday 4 October in the Municipal Gardens and the Municipal Garden Theatre. It opened on the 26th at 20:00 in front of the «Vrakas» statue, with music from Greece and Cyprus by Vasiliki Hadjiadamou and Sotos Gonios and the Limassol Municipality Philharmonic Orchestra. Each evening the programme began at 19:00, with the main performances from 20:00.
What was on
Concerts by Cypriot and Greek artists, traditional music and dancing, theatre and comedy, and live music in the festival taverns. There were wine-themed caricature and photography exhibitions, pottery workshops and, for children, puppet shows, shadow theatre and magic. On some days traditional palouze was made in front of the crowd. The Cypriot press adds that wineries offered tastings and wine at special prices and that most performances were free.

The Vrakas
The large Vrakas statue, a man in traditional Cypriot baggy trousers, greets visitors at the entrance to the Gardens and has been the festival’s emblem since 1961, according to the Cypriot press. In 2026 a stilt walker dressed as the Vrakas also roamed the grounds, posing for photos.
Getting there
The Municipal Gardens are in central Limassol. In 2026 there was free transport on selected dates, with advance booking and limited seats, and the tourism board advised arriving early if driving, because of parking.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Limassol on GetYourGuide.
The wine around it
If the festival leaves you wanting more, the wine villages of Limassol district have around ten wineries you can visit, which I cover in Cypriot wine, along with Commandaria wine, the area’s sweet wine.
More of the programme
The Cypriot press detailed some of the 2026 evenings. The opening night also featured a magic show by the Liotati family at 20:00 and music from Stefanos Pelekanis at 21:00. On Sunday 27 the play «Ena Krasi Mia Thalasa» was staged with live music, followed by Cretan songs and dancing.
If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Limassol: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.
The weather
At the end of September, the south coast is around 30 °C by day with hardly any rain, according to WMO data for Larnaca and Paphos. Evenings in the Gardens are warm, perfect for eating outdoors.
For 2027
The dates hadn’t been published when I wrote this page. If you’d like to go, check the dates and programme with Limassol Municipality once they’re out. The weather for those weeks is in Cyprus in September and Cyprus in October.
