Luxury next to the Akamas
Anassa, the five-star on Chrysochou Bay
Anassa is a five-star hotel with 177 rooms in Neo Chorio, near Latchi, according to the official 2026 list, and one of only ten five-stars in Cyprus with a firm rating. It belongs to the Thanos group, and its website describes it as a Mediterranean village cascading down to the sea.

- Five stars with a firm rating, in Neo Chorio near Latchi.
- 177 rooms and a seawater spa.
- A kids' club from April to November.
- Dogs up to 12 kilos welcome.
I'd pick it to truly switch off, far from Paphos with the Akamas next door. Bear in mind, though, that it's about 37 km from the airport, and without a car you won't stray far from the hotel.

What I would keep in mind
-
01 Worth the splurge
A firm rating
It's one of the ten five-star hotels in Cyprus that the official list shows with a firm licence and classification, marked L.

A seawater spa
Its website says the Thalassa spa draws water from Chrysochou Bay for its thalassotherapy treatments.

03 My tip
Restaurants on rotation
The hotel notes that its restaurants open on rotation, so not all of them are open every day.

04 To save money
Free board upgrade for children
On half or full board, the hotel upgrades under-14s to the same plan at no extra cost, according to its website.

What I would book
Anassa is the luxury hotel of Cyprus’s quiet coast, above Chrysochou Bay and on the edge of the Akamas. Here’s its official entry, what the hotel itself promotes and the sort of trip I’d book it for. The whole area is covered in Latchi hotels.
In the tourism register
The summer 2026 Polis list gives it five stars, with 177 rooms and 366 beds, at 40 Alekos Michailides Road, Neo Chorio. It’s run by the Thanos group, which also owns the Almyra hotel and the Annabelle hotel in Paphos. And it has something few others do, an L, meaning a firm licence and classification. Of the island’s 40 five-stars, only ten carry it, as I explain in luxury hotels in Cyprus.
A village that steps down to the sea
The hotel describes itself as a Byzantine-inspired Mediterranean village cascading through gardens to a secluded beach. It reports an investment of more than ten million euros to refresh the main terrace, the suites and all its villas. Its spa, Thalassa, prides itself on using water from the bay itself for thalassotherapy. There are four restaurants, Basiliko, Helios, Amphora and Pelagos, though the hotel warns that they open on rotation and not every one runs each day.
If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Anassa Polis for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.
With children or a dog
The Mythos kids’ club takes children from four months, runs from April to November, Thursday to Tuesday, and costs from 45 euros per half day. On half or full board, under-14s are upgraded to the same plan free. Dogs up to 12 kilos are allowed in selected suites and residences for a 200-euro fee per stay. The rules for bringing a dog are in Cyprus with a dog.
Distances from Neo Chorio
In a straight line according to OpenStreetMap, Latchi harbour is about 2.1 km from the hotel and the Baths of Aphrodite, the starting point for the Akamas trails, 2.8. Polis Chrysochous is 5.2 km away and the Blue Lagoon, 7.3, usually reached by boat from Latchi. Kato Paphos, on the other hand, is about 32 km off and Paphos Airport nearly 38, so arriving means a hire car or a transfer.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Latchi on GetYourGuide.
Two official lists that mention it
The Anassa appears on the list of pet-friendly hotels the Deputy Ministry published in 2026, in line with what its website says, and is also among the vegan-friendly places on the August 2024 list. On the Polis register, the operating company is Thanos Club Hotels, and the address includes “Aphrodite Paths” alongside Alekos Michailides Road.
Who I’d recommend it to
Anyone who wants to genuinely switch off. Neo Chorio sits next to Latchi, a little over 35 km from Paphos Airport as the crow flies, well away from the buzz of Kato Paphos. It’s ideal for a few calm days with trips into the Akamas, rather than as a touring base. For that role I’d pick Paphos or Limassol, as explained in where to stay in Cyprus. Close by are Latchi, where boats leave for the Blue Lagoon, and, inland, Kritou Terra, whose church of Agia Aikaterini inspired the hotel’s.
If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Polis: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.
