- A confirmed five-star with just 100 rooms.
- 1 km from central Ayia Napa, on the seafront.
- Seven restaurants and bars, plus a spa.
If you want a small, quiet five-star in Ayia Napa with the centre a stroll away but none of its noise, this is the first I'd look at. For families after slides and a big kids' club, it's not its territory.

What I would keep in mind
-
01 Most beautiful
Just a hundred rooms
It's one of the two smallest five-stars in Cyprus, alongside Columbia in Pissouri. For anyone escaping giant resorts, that's a point in its favour.

The hotel reckons 40 minutes by car from Larnaca airport, and notes you can arrive by bus, taxi or hire car.

What I would book
Almost every five-star in Ayia Napa is big, and Alion Beach is the exception, with a hundred rooms. It sits east of the centre, on the beach its website calls Glyko Nero, and it holds a confirmed rating too. I sum up its entry, its offer and the traveller it fits. If you want to compare, see Ayia Napa hotels.
Small, and confirmed
On the Agia Napa register for August it shows five stars, 100 rooms and 200 beds on Kryo Nero Avenue, with the L of a confirmed licence. Together with Columbia in Pissouri, at 95 rooms, it’s among the smallest five-stars on the island, as noted in luxury hotels in Cyprus with their room counts.
What it offers
The hotel divides its hundred rooms between sea-view, panoramic garden-view and inland rooms, with a coffee machine and a smart TV according to the room details. For food and drink there are seven venues, from The Deck, its terrace, to Symposion, Kalimera, the Akti pool restaurant and the Ipanema, Amethystos and Muses bars, plus a Sunday brunch. The spa is called Armonia. And for a special occasion it sets up private dinners on a garden patio facing the sea, with a butler.

Its story
The website explains that the hotel comes from the company founded by Pavlos Pavlakis, a pioneer of tourism in Ayia Napa, whose first property opened in 1972. He’s the same entrepreneur behind Nissi Beach Resort, at the other end of town. The hotel also highlights its work protecting the dunes on its beach and its awards, among them Travelife Gold for sustainability and a place among TUI’s top 100 hotels. It also shows off a TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice award and a Booking.com Traveller Review Award. In 2024, with help from its guests, it donated nearly €8,400 to local charities. Its sea-view rooms take up to three guests, which suits a couple travelling with an older child.
Location
It’s 1 km from central Ayia Napa, close enough to walk to dinner and far enough to sleep in peace. Very close by, next to the harbour, is the Limanaki hotel, a three-star of seventy rooms, and on the other side of the centre, above Nissi, the Adams Beach hotel. Larnaca airport is about 40 minutes away by car. On the same avenue, some three hundred metres away, is the Grecian Bay hotel, a much bigger five-star with three tennis courts.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Ayia Napa on GetYourGuide.
My take
It’s the Ayia Napa five-star I’d choose for a couple or a quiet trip, for its size, its confirmed rating and its closeness to the centre. For families with young children, the kids’ clubs and pools of the big Nissi hotels have more to offer. To the east the coast runs on to Cape Greco, and to compare stretches of sand there are my Ayia Napa beaches.
If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Ayia Napa: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.
