- A five-star on Kryo Nero, east of central Ayia Napa.
- Three tennis courts, squash and a spa.
- A free shuttle to the other Grecian hotels.
If you like to keep active on holiday, with tennis and squash without leaving the hotel, and want central Ayia Napa within walking distance, this is one of the five-stars I'd look at first.

What I would book
Ayia Napa has five-stars for almost every taste, and Grecian Bay is the one for people who can’t sit still. Tennis, squash, a gym with personal programmes and the town centre a short stroll away. Below I sum up the register entry, what the group publishes and the traveller I’d steer towards it. The rest of the town’s hotels are in Ayia Napa hotels.
Five stars on Kryo Nero
On the Agia Napa register the ministry dated August it appears with five stars, 271 rooms and 542 beds at 32 Kryo Nero Avenue. Like most, it carries the P, so its rating isn’t settled yet. It’s one of the town’s ten five-stars, which I go through alongside the rest of the island in luxury hotels in Cyprus.
For the active
These details come from the shared database the Grecian group uses for its hotels’ websites. There are three new floodlit tennis courts, with an instructor if you ask, and a squash court beside the outdoor pool. The wellness centre’s health club runs fitness, aerobics and weight-management programmes, with a trainer who draws up personal plans. The spa offers massages, hot stones, deep tissue, reflexology and facials, and there’s a sauna, steam room and hair studio.

Rooms and children
Sea-view superior rooms measure around 28 square metres, with a king-size or twin beds and a private balcony. They come with bathrobes and slippers, a minibar, a safe, air conditioning with central heating, tea and coffee making and free Wi-Fi. The hotel’s hair studio, incidentally, also does wedding appointments. For children there’s a supervised club, a playground in the garden and a games room for a break from the beach. Teenagers will probably get more out of the tennis courts, where an instructor can be booked on request.
The Grecian group
Grecian Bay shares its group with the Grecian Park hotel on Konnos Bay and with Grecian Sands, also in Ayia Napa. All three are linked by a free shuttle, so you can dine at Grecian Park’s Japanese restaurant without taking the car. By my reckoning from the map coordinates, the two hotels are about five and a half kilometres apart in a straight line, enough to switch from town to the quiet of Cape Greco in a few minutes.
If you would rather have a local show you round, book a guided tour in Ayia Napa and choose by the reviews.
Neighbours and my view
On the same avenue, about three hundred metres away, is the Alion Beach hotel, smaller and quieter. On the far side of the centre, past Nissi beach, is the Asterias Beach hotel at Makronissos. Grecian Bay convinces me for an active holiday, as a couple or with teenagers, with the centre close by for dinner out. In the town centre stands the 16th-century Ayia Napa monastery, and for other places to swim see Ayia Napa beaches.
A car frees you from timetables: search car hire in Ayia Napa on DiscoverCars and compare companies.
