Four stars and a class A tourist village
Aliathon, a two-village resort in Geroskipou
Aliathon Resort appears twice on the official list of August 2026, on Theas Afroditis Avenue in Geroskipou, as a four-star hotel with 312 rooms and as a class A tourist village with 147, both with indicative ratings. They are Aliathon Aegean and Aliathon Ionian, a short walk from the beach.

- A four-star hotel and a class A tourist village in one resort.
- Two moods, the quiet Aegean and the family Ionian.
- Seven outdoor pools and a spa with an adults-only indoor pool.
- Part of the year it runs on tour operator concepts.
With children who want entertainment, the Ionian is your side; for calm, the Aegean. I like that one resort keeps the two moods apart, though it's worth knowing that part of it runs on tour operator concepts.

Paphos hotels
What I would book
Aliathon isn’t one hotel but two, and the official list shows it. It stands where the Paphos hotel strip runs out, already in Geroskipou, split into two villages with different moods. Here’s how it appears on the register, how it works and who each half suits. If you’re comparing, look first at Paphos hotels.
Two register entries
The Paphos list published in August includes two establishments with the same name and address, 3 Theas Afroditis Avenue. One is a four-star hotel with 312 rooms and 634 beds; the other a class A tourist village with 147 rooms and 314 beds. Both carry the P, so the ratings are a guide. Added together, it’s one of the biggest complexes on the Paphos coast.
Aegean and Ionian
The resort explains it like this. Aliathon Aegean is the quiet part, low whitewashed buildings in three areas, the Aegean Village, Time to Smile with self-catering accommodation, and the Aegean Swim-Up Suites, whose pool and swim-up bar are for their guests only. Aliathon Ionian is the one for family holidays, with a great deal more going on, as the resort puts it. The two are within a short walk of each other, among gardens and a stone’s throw from the beach. Between them there are seven outdoor pools, and the Faros Spa in the Ionian has an adults-only indoor pool with jacuzzi.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Aliathon Resort Paphos on Expedia and filter by area before price.
The tour operator detail
Here’s something to know before booking. From April to October the Ionian runs as a First Choice Holiday Village and part of the Aegean as TUI Netherlands’ Time to Smile. In other words, during the season part of the resort is sold by those tour operators under their own concepts, so if you book independently, ask which area you’ll be in and which facilities you’ll share with their guests.
History and surroundings
Aliathon opened in April 1992 with 52 apartments and has grown steadily since. In front of it is Aliathon Plaza, an easily reached block at the entrance with restaurants, bars and its own car park, handy for an evening out without crossing town. Besides holidays, it hosts weddings and sports groups for football, athletics, cycling and triathlon. Very close by to the west is the Athena Beach hotel, and following the coast towards the harbour, Olympic Lagoon Resort Paphos.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in Pafos and pick one that fits your day.
My take
I think it’s a good option for families who want plenty of pool time and activities, and for couples who stay on the Aegean side. If you’d rather have something smaller and independent in Kato Paphos, look at Pagona Hotel Apartments. For a side-by-side look at every kind of accommodation, see where to stay in Cyprus.
Where the bus does not go, a car does: compare car hire in Paphos before you arrive rather than at the desk.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Aliathon Resort Paphos on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
