Hotels in Polis and Latchi
Polis Chrysochous and Latchi are the quietest stretch of Cyprus's coast. Their official list of August 2026 records just 27 places to stay and about 2,400 beds, with two five-star hotels, Anassa and Nalu Latchi Leonardo. Polis had 2,570 residents in 2021, according to CYSTAT.

- The Polis area has 27 places to stay and about 2,400 beds.
- Two hotels are five-star, Anassa and Nalu Latchi Leonardo.
- There are simple apartments and village houses.
- It's about 36 km from Paphos Airport.
I'd come here to slow down, with a car and no rush. It's the base I'd pick for the Akamas and the Laona villages, not for seeing the whole island.

What I would book
Polis and Latchi are the bit of Cyprus’s coast for people escaping the crowds. To see what’s on offer, I read through the Polis section of the tourism register, which lumps the whole area together. Here’s what I found and who I think it suits. I line up every area in where to stay in Cyprus.
Little choice, by design
The Polis list records 27 places to stay with around 1,200 rooms and 2,400 beds, a tenth of Paphos. There are 11 hotels, nine hotel apartment complexes, one tourist village, two villas and four traditional houses. Polis had 2,570 residents in 2021, according to CYSTAT, and Latchi doesn’t even appear as a locality in the census, so the scale is small. What to see in each is covered in Polis Chrysochous and Latchi.
The two five-stars
This quiet corner has two five-star hotels. Nalu Latchi Leonardo, on Akamantos Avenue in Polis, is the largest in the area, with 240 rooms. The Anassa hotel, in Neo Chorio, on the way to the Akamas, has 177. The rest are small hotels, such as Natura Beach or Marion in Polis, and simple class B or C apartments.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Latchi on Expedia and filter by area before price.
Staying in the hills
What I like most about this list is its village places. There are traditional houses in Drouseia and Lysos, small hotels in Miliou and Neo Chorio, and in Polis itself a traditional house turned hotel, Polis 1907. For anyone after silence, it’s a very different option to the coast. More villages like these in the prettiest villages in Cyprus.
Hotels and apartments in Polis
Beyond the two big names, the town’s choice is family-sized. Natura Beach, a three-star, has 84 rooms and a final licence on Chr. Papanikopoulou Street, and the same group registers eight tourist villas next door. Marion, a two-star, has 52 rooms on the street of the same name, and Aphrodite Beach, also two-star, 48 on Rigenas Street. The one-star Latchi hotel is the smallest, with twelve rooms. Just outside town, at Neo Chorio, are Souli, a two-star, and the Tavros apartments, the only class A hotel apartments on the list.
For self-catering there’s more to choose from than hotels, with Mariela (64 apartments) and Stephanos (36) on Arsinoe Street, Bougenvilea, Follow the Sun and Odysseas & Eleni in class B, and Alkionest and C & A in class C, plus the Eliofos Elegant Maisonettes on Evropis Avenue. The only tourist village is Akamanthea, class A, with 76 units and a final licence. Of the 27 places, 14 have a final licence and 13 are pending.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in Latchi and pick one that fits your day.
The village addresses
In Drouseia there’s the three-star Droushia Heights hotel, with 48 rooms, alongside the two-star Palates and two traditional apartment houses, Droshia and Ktima 1937 Kannides. In Lysos, Demetriou Paradisos Hills has 27 rooms and the Marmaras house three apartments. At Miliou, down in the valley, Secret Forest is listed as a one-star hotel with 56 rooms. And in the middle of Polis, the traditional house Polis 1907 has five rooms and is run by Louis Hotels. For me they’re the addresses with the most character on the whole list. Further south on the Laona plateau, Kathikas appears not on this list but on the mountain one, with two traditional houses, Spiti Anastasia and Spiti Urania.
Getting around without a car
From Polis bus station, Pafos Buses runs the 645 to Paphos, the 622, which continues as far as Latchi and the Baths of Aphrodite, then the 623 as far as Neo Chorio, the 641 through the Laona villages and the 643a towards Pomos, while the 640 climbs to Lysos. You can manage a few days without a car if you stay in Polis or Latchi, though for the hill villages I’d hire one.
Where the bus does not go, a car does: compare car hire in Latchi before you arrive rather than at the desk.
Who it suits
Polis and Latchi are about 36 and 37 km in a straight line from Paphos Airport, and the area is best enjoyed with a car. I’d choose it for a few days of rest and trips to the northern Akamas, not as a base for touring the island. For somewhere nearer Paphos, see Coral Bay hotels. For a whole house, the register lists the Natura Beach and Zaharena villas in Polis, covered in villas in Cyprus, and for a tent, the eucalyptus-shaded site by the beach, in camping in Cyprus.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Latchi on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
