Five stars on Poseidonos Avenue
Almyra, a design hotel in Kato Paphos
Almyra is a five-star hotel with 187 rooms at 12 Poseidonos Avenue, in Kato Paphos, according to the official 2026 list, which gives its rating as indicative. It belongs to the Thanos group, like Anassa and Annabelle, and its website pitches it as a design hotel for couples and families.

- Five stars in Kato Paphos, with 187 rooms.
- An adults-only spa and two adults-only pools.
- A kids' club by age group from four months.
- Dogs up to 15 kilos are welcome.
To me it's the Paphos five-star best suited to families who still want good design. For a couple after total quiet, though, I'd weigh up its adults-only spa or look at a hotel without a kids' club.

What I would book
Almyra is one of Kato Paphos’s five-star hotels, on Poseidonos Avenue, and one of the names that crops up most when you search for a Paphos hotel. Below is its official entry, what its website promises and the kind of guest I’d send there. To compare it with the neighbours, see Paphos hotels.
Its official entry
This summer’s Paphos list gives it five stars, 187 rooms and 374 beds, at 12 Poseidonos Avenue. The P beside its rating means the new classification isn’t final yet. The operator listed is Thanos, the group behind the Anassa hotel and next-door Annabelle hotel. Two doors along is the Alexander the Great hotel. That makes it one of the island’s 40 five-stars, all gathered in luxury hotels in Cyprus.
Design, pools and food
The hotel calls itself a design hotel, a member of Design Hotels, set in around eight acres of gardens on the seafront promenade. It has five pools, an indoor one and an outdoor one for adults only, one for infants and two facing the sea, and a spa, Almyraspa, reserved for adults, with sauna, steam rooms and rooftop classes. For food it lists five venues, from Notios, serving Asian-Mediterranean fusion, to Ouzeri, a seaside taverna.

Children and dogs welcome
This is where it stands out. The Mythos kids’ club is split by age, from four months to twelve years, from 45 euros per half day, with babysitting from 18 euros an hour, and it closes on Wednesdays. It also takes dogs up to 15 kilos in some room types, for a 25-euro nightly fee, and has a fenced dog park. For your dog’s paperwork, see Cyprus with a dog.
Everything within a stroll
Measured in OpenStreetMap as the crow flies, the church of Agia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa, with St Paul’s Pillar, is about 600 metres from the hotel; Paphos Castle, 1.1 km; and the entrance to the Paphos Archaeological Park, 1.2. The Tombs of the Kings are 2.8 km away and the airport about 7.6. Coral Bay, at 12 km, needs a car or the bus.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Pafos on GetYourGuide.
What the official lists confirm
Besides the main register, the Deputy Ministry publishes themed lists, and the Almyra appears on two. The 2026 list of pet-friendly hotels includes it, which matches what its website says, and so does the vegan-friendly accommodation list from August 2024. On the register, its website is the Thanos group’s and the operating company is Thanos Holiday Hotels.
My take
If you’re a family after a five-star with a strong kids’ club without leaving Kato Paphos, it’s among the most complete options I know of. For a couple seeking total peace, the family atmosphere may weigh on you, though the spa and adults-only pools help. Location is its trump card, within walking distance of the harbour, the fort and the World Heritage mosaics. If you want more than the pool, the Paphos coast has water sports in Cyprus for all levels.
If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Paphos: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.
