- A Kouklia resort with a 290-room five-star hotel.
- An 18-hole golf course and a 6-hole academy course.
- Rental villas and apartments.
- Close to Aphrodite's sanctuary at Palaepaphos.
For golfers, or families wanting a resort with everything on site, it makes sense. To explore Paphos and its coast, though, I'd stay in Kato Paphos, as here you depend on a car.

Better with a car
Kouklia is a long way from central Paphos and the harbour, so to get around the coast you'll need a car.

What I would book
Aphrodite Hills isn’t just a hotel but a resort with a golf course, villas and even its own square. Here you’ll find its register entry, what the resort itself promises and the traveller I’d recommend it to. The rest of the district’s accommodation is in Paphos hotels.
The hotel’s entry
On this summer’s Paphos list, the resort’s hotel appears as five-star, with 290 rooms and 580 beds, on Aphroditis Avenue in Kouklia, Paphos district. Like most big hotels in the area, its rating carries the P for pending classification. It’s one of the twelve five-stars on the Paphos list, gathered in luxury hotels in Cyprus. The operator on the list is Aphrodite Hotels Ltd, and the website the register gives is that of Atlantica, the chain that runs the hotel. The same hotel also appears on the Deputy Ministry’s list of vegan-friendly accommodation, published in August 2024.
A golf resort
The resort’s website describes it as a certified PGA National golf resort, with an 18-hole championship course and a 6-hole academy course on 500,000 m² of land with sea views. Besides the hotel, it rents out apartments and villas and has a Village Square with restaurants, bars and shops, plus sports facilities including a racket club, a football academy, cycling and horse riding.
If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Aphrodite Hills for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.
The course and academy in detail
According to the resort’s golf page, checked on 4 October 2026, the course opened in 2002 and will turn 25 in 2027. The PGA National academy has 30 practice bays, next to the pro shop, clubhouse and starter hut. The resort says it spent 2.5 million euros rebuilding the greens and bunkers, and lists awards such as Cyprus’s Best Golf Course at the World Golf Awards in 2014 and 2016 and IAGTO European Golf Resort of the Year in 2018. In 2020 it hosted two European Tour events back to back. Beyond the hotel, the resort says it has more than 250 properties to rent, villas and apartments included.
The distances, measured on the map
From the hotel, in a straight line according to OpenStreetMap, Aphrodite’s Rock is about 2.7 km away and the sanctuary at Palaepaphos 4.2. Paphos Airport is roughly 11.5 km off, and Kato Paphos, with the harbour and the mosaics, almost 20. Limassol is about 39 km away. These are distances for driving, not walking.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Paphos on GetYourGuide.
Next to Aphrodite
What I like most about its location is the history next door. Kouklia is the village of Palaepaphos and the sanctuary of Aphrodite, one of the components of UNESCO’s Paphos World Heritage site, which features in UNESCO World Heritage in Cyprus. It’s an easy morning’s visit from the resort itself.
Towards Limassol, about eleven kilometres away as the crow flies on Pissouri Bay, is a very different luxury resort, smaller and right by the sea, Columbia Beach Resort.
For golfers and families
Golfers, without question, and families who want a resort with everything and plan to stay put. For exploring Paphos, the harbour and Coral Bay, though, you’ll rely on a car, since Kouklia is a long way from the centre. If that’s you, pick one up at the airport, as explained in car hire in Cyprus. From the resort it’s a short drive down to Aphrodite’s Rock on the coast. If you would rather have a standalone villa, the official register has its own category for them, covered in villas in Cyprus.
If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Paphos: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.
If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Aphrodite Hills for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.
