Polis Chrysochous, Paphos district
Latchi, the harbour on Chrysochou Bay
Latchi, also spelt Latsi, is the harbour of Polis Chrysochous, about 3 km west of the town centre on Chrysochou Bay. Boats leave from here for the Blue Lagoon in Akamas, and it's home to the Sea and Culture Museum, with four rooms on more than 30 centuries of maritime history. The Baths of Aphrodite are about 5 km away.

Blue Lagoon in Cyprus -
04 My tip
Closed on summer Mondays
From April to October the museum is closed on Mondays. From November to March it closes on Sundays and opens only until 14:00 on Saturdays.
What I would book
Latchi is a small harbour on a big bay, and for me it’s the natural starting point for the north side of Akamas. It belongs to the municipality of Polis Chrysochous, about 3 km from its centre.
The harbour and the boats
The trips along the Akamas coast leave from the harbour. Cyprus Mini Cruises, a local family firm, sails in the morning and at midday on trips of about two and a half hours, and again at sunset with a barbecue on board. All of them stop for a swim at the Blue Lagoon, the best-known cove on the peninsula. Other operators work from the quay too.
The harbour is also where the village throws its parties. In 2026 the Kataklysmos festival filled the quay from 30 May to 1 June with concerts, games in the water and traditional dancing, according to Akamas Municipality.
What to see in Latchi
The Polis-Latsi Sea and Culture Museum, at 94 Akamantos Avenue, covers more than 30 centuries of Cypriot maritime history in four themed rooms, with archaeological finds, old maps and photographs, videos and virtual reality displays. The Pafos tourism board describes it as a museum designed for families and groups.
Entry is €5 for adults and €2 for children aged 6 to 12. From April to October it opens Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00, and at weekends until 16:00, closed on Mondays. In winter it opens on weekdays from 9:00 to 16:00 and on Saturdays until 14:00.
East of the harbour, on the way to Polis, lies Latchi beach. And the tourism board names Akamas and Latchi among the areas of Cyprus where birdwatching trips are run, depending on the season.
If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Latchi for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.
Cycling from Latchi
Mountain bike route 5 from the Pafos tourism board starts in Polis, passes through Latchi and climbs to Neo Chorio before heading into the Akamas forest and on to the Fontana Amorosa. It’s 36.5 km, almost all on dirt tracks, with 590 m of total climbing, and is rated medium difficulty. The toughest stretch is the very first, the climb from Latchi to Neo Chorio, and between kilometres 16 and 20 there are descents that call for care. They recommend a bike with good suspension.
Getting there and where to stay
From Polis bus station, the 622 runs through Prodromi and Latchi and ends at the Baths of Aphrodite, about 5 km away. The 623 follows the same road to Neo Chorio. From Paphos, you first need to reach Polis on the 645. Follow the coast north-east and you come to Pomos.
Places to stay in the area, including the Nalu Latchi Leonardo, are listed in hotels in Latchi. Boats leave the harbour for the Blue Lagoon at 10:15, 13:00 and 16:00, as set out in boat trips in Cyprus.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Latchi on GetYourGuide.
If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Latchi: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.
If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Latchi for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.
