Where to stay in Cyprus
Campsites in Cyprus, from beach to mountain
Cyprus has few campsites, but they're well placed. On the Paphos coast there's Polis, in a eucalyptus wood by the beach, Geroskipou and Coral Bay, plus Aphrodite Family Eco by the Baths of Aphrodite. Near Limassol, Governor's Beach opens all year and Kambi tou Kalogirou, at 1,540 m, is the Troodos site.

- Cyprus has few campsites, nearly all around Paphos and Limassol.
- Governor's Beach is the largest and opens all year.
- Polis camps in a eucalyptus wood by the beach, March to October.
- Kambi tou Kalogirou, at 1,540 m, is the mountain site, with no power or showers.
For the beach, I'd pick Polis, in a eucalyptus wood 500 metres from town with the Akamas peninsula next door. To escape the August heat, Kambi tou Kalogirou, but go prepared, because there's no electricity and no showers.

01 Most beautiful
Polis, among the eucalyptus
The Polis site sits on the beach inside a eucalyptus wood, 500 metres from the centre, with room for up to 200 tents, from March to October.

02 My tip
Mountain camping, no power
Kambi tou Kalogirou, near Prodromos, has only parking, toilets, drinking water and barbecue areas. No electricity, café or showers.

What I would book
Cyprus isn’t a big camping destination, so bear that in mind before you pack the tent. There are few campsites, but they’re well placed, on quiet beaches and up in the mountains, and the Paphos and Limassol tourism boards describe them in detail. Here’s every one I’ve found in official sources. If you’d rather have a roof, see where to stay in Cyprus.
The Paphos campsites
The Paphos tourism board lists three on its website, and says Cyprus has several licensed sites for tents and touring caravans, most with showers, washing facilities, toilets, a snack bar or restaurant and a mini market within reach.
Polis is my favourite. It’s on the beach, inside a eucalyptus wood, 500 metres from the town centre and 37 km from Paphos. It takes up to 200 tents and has toilets and showers, a beach snack bar and, from June to August, a small shop. It opens from March to October, sometimes longer if the weather allows.
Closer to town, Zenon Gardens at Geroskipou sits on the municipal beach, 3 km from Paphos harbour, with room for 95 tents or caravans from April to October. And Coral Bay, 11 km north of Paphos and close to its beach, is open all year for 47 tents or caravans, with power hook-ups, hot water in the showers and a restaurant on site. The Deputy Ministry’s official list also includes a campsite in Pegeia with exactly 47 units.
By the Baths of Aphrodite
The August 2026 general accommodation list includes one more campsite near Polis, Aphrodite Family Eco, at the Baths of Aphrodite in Neo Chorio, with 60 units and 240 places. Its season isn’t given on the register. It’s on the doorstep of the Akamas peninsula.
If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Polis for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.
The Limassol campsites
Limassol Tourism describes two. Governor’s Beach Kalymnos is on the coast about 20 km east of Limassol, between Limassol and Larnaca and just off the motorway. It’s one of the island’s largest, with 230 caravan pitches and 247 tent pitches, and has toilets, showers, a coin-operated launderette and a seafront restaurant serving local food. A small supermarket opens in July and August. It runs all year with direct beach access, covered in Governor’s Beach.
The other is the mountain site, Kambi tou Kalogirou, near Prodromos, at 1,540 metres among pine forest. It’s for proper campers, with only parking, toilets, drinking water and barbecue areas, and no electricity, café or showers. It holds about 80 tents or caravans and some 300 people, and it’s busiest from June to September, when the coast swelters. A nearby spring historically supplied water to the surrounding villages.
Picnics in the forest
If you don’t want to sleep out but do want to eat in the woods, there are plenty of picnic sites. The Paphos board lists ten in the Paphos forest, run by the Forestry Department, with barbecues, water, tables and toilets, all wheelchair accessible, such as the one at Stavros tis Psokas. Limassol Tourism lists several in the Troodos, such as Armyroleivadon, for 2,000 people, or the Prodromos dam site at 1,600 metres. Others are handy for walkers, such as Trooditissa Xerokolymbos, 6 km from Platres at 1,300 metres, with room for 700, or Kakomallis, 6 km south of Louvaras beside the forest station. They’re listed as picnic sites, with tables, water and barbecue spots.
So you do not lose the morning at the ticket office, browse tickets and tours in Polis on GetYourGuide.
Which I’d choose for which trip
For a coastal tour in a campervan or caravan, Governor’s Beach, because it sits between Limassol and Larnaca, opens all year and has the full set of facilities. For beaches and nature, Polis, with Akamas and Latchi next door, covered in Latchi. For anyone flying into Paphos without a car, Geroskipou, 3 km from the harbour. And to escape the August heat, the Prodromos mountains, with Troodos Square a short drive away.
What I can’t tell you
I haven’t found campsite prices or rules on wild camping in permitted sources, so I don’t give either. Before going, I’d ring the site to confirm the season and price. If you’d rather have a roof without spending much, the register’s more modest apartments and hotels are in cheap hotels in Cyprus.
If you would rather go at your own pace, see the car hire deals in Polis: the earlier you book, the more cars are left to choose from.
If you are staying the night, see the best hotel deals in Polis for your dates: the well-placed rooms go fast.

Frequently asked questions
Are there campsites in Cyprus?
Yes, a few. Around Paphos, Polis, Geroskipou, Coral Bay and Aphrodite Family Eco at Neo Chorio; near Limassol, Governor's Beach and Kambi tou Kalogirou in the Troodos.
Which Cyprus campsite is open all year?
Governor's Beach, between Limassol and Larnaca, according to Limassol Tourism, and Coral Bay, according to the Paphos tourism board.
Can you camp in the Troodos mountains?
Yes, at Kambi tou Kalogirou near Prodromos, at 1,540 m. It only has parking, toilets, water and barbecues, with no electricity or showers.
Is wild camping allowed in Cyprus?
I haven't found a permitted official source covering it, so I won't say either way. I'd stick to campsites and authorised picnic areas.
What facilities do Cyprus campsites have?
According to the Paphos tourism board, most have showers, washing facilities, toilets, a snack bar or restaurant and a shop nearby. The mountain site is the exception.
Can I bring a motorhome?
The sites in the table take caravans, and Governor's Beach has 230 caravan pitches. For bringing your own vehicle by sea, see the ferry options before you plan.
