- Ayia Napa has 132 registered places to stay and about 24,000 beds.
- Ten are five-star hotels.
- Nearly half are hotel apartments.
- It's about 38 km from Larnaca Airport.
With children or for a quiet break, I'd look at hotels around Nissi or Makronissos, a little away from the centre. If you're after nightlife, stay near the harbour and the main square.

02 To save money
Plenty of apartments
Nearly half the places to stay are hotel apartments, 64 in all, most of them class B. For longer stays or families they usually give you more room.

03 My tip
Star ratings are indicative
Most entries carry a P, meaning their classification is still being processed under the new hotel law. The stars shown are what the list calls indicative.

04 Getting there
Shuttle from the airport
Kapnos Airport Shuttle links Larnaca Airport with Ayia Napa, and the Cyprus By Bus portal lists it at 9 euros per adult.

What I would book
Ayia Napa means beach holidays in Cyprus, and its accommodation shows it. Rather than guess, I went through every Agia Napa entry in the tourism register, as updated in August 2026. Here’s what’s there, where things are and how I’d choose. I weigh up the island’s other areas in where to stay in Cyprus.
What the register shows
The Agia Napa list records 132 establishments with roughly 12,000 rooms and 24,000 beds. Sixty are hotels, with ten five-star, eighteen four-star and twenty-four three-star. Hotel apartments almost match them at 64, mostly class B, and five tourist villages and three villas complete the picture. The island-wide picture is in apartments in Cyprus. Read the stars with care, because most entries carry a P, which means the classification is still going through the new hotel law and the rating is indicative.
The five-star names
The list’s ten five-star hotels are Adams Beach, Alion Beach, Amanti, Atlantica Aeneas, Atlantica Mare Village, Chrysomare, Grecian Bay, Nissiblu Beach, Olympic Lagoon Resort and Vassos Nissi Plage. Several are among the island’s largest, Atlantica Aeneas with over 800 beds. The complex with the most beds, around 960, isn’t a hotel at all but a tourist village, Sunwing Sandy Bay Village.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Ayia Napa on Expedia and filter by area before price.
Which part of town
The register only gives addresses, but that’s enough to read the map. Many of the big hotels sit on Nissi Avenue, to the west, by the sandy beaches, with others on Kryo Nero, by the Ayia Napa sculpture park, or at Makronissos. The centre and harbour are where the nightlife is. To the east lies Cape Greco park, whose lighthouse Visit Famagusta dates to 1892, and its sea cliffs. This coastline features in the most beautiful places in Cyprus.
For a restful stay I’d head away from the centre towards Nissi Beach or Makronissos. For going out, stay near the harbour, a stroll from Ayia Napa monastery.
Four more have a guide of their own, Nissi Beach Resort, a four-star on Nissi Avenue; the Dome Beach hotel, part of the Tsokkos group; the Limanaki hotel, a three-star by the fishing harbour; and the Asterias Beach hotel, a four-star west of town.
Getting there
Ayia Napa is about 38 km in a straight line from Larnaca Airport. Kapnos Airport Shuttle covers the route, and the Cyprus By Bus portal lists 9 euros per adult, though it’s undated. Taxis and hire cars are the other options, compared in airport transfers in Cyprus. Torn between Ayia Napa and its neighbour? See Protaras hotels. Adams Beach, Nissi Beach Resort and Asterias sit right on the sand, grouped with others from round the island in Cyprus hotels on the beach. And if you’re here for the nights out, bar closing times and safety warnings are in Cyprus nightlife.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in Ayia Napa and pick one that fits your day.
Where the bus does not go, a car does: compare car hire in Ayia Napa before you arrive rather than at the desk.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Ayia Napa on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
