If electronic music is your thing, few European festivals let you dance with your feet in the sand and swim between sets, and for free. I'd book a room in Bečići as soon as the dates are out, as the festival beach is the hotels' beach too and staying there saves you a taxi at dawn.

What I would keep in mind

01 To save money
Free, but you must register
In 2026 entry was free with compulsory advance registration on the official festival website, according to the Budva tourist board. VIP tickets were paid.

02 Most beautiful
The stage, steps from the sea
The Budva tourist board highlights that the stage stood just a few metres from the water on Bečići beach, which runs for about 2,000 metres.

03 My tip
Stay in Bečići and walk back
Bečići's hotels sit on the festival beach itself, and Budva Old Town is about 2 km along the seafront path.

04 Watch out
Licensed taxis home
The Foreign Office recommends licensed or app-based taxis, and reminds visitors that Montenegro's drug penalties are very severe.

05 My tip
The rest of summer, Budva after dark
Outside festival weekend, the riviera's nights carry on at clubs such as Top Hill, which holds around 5,000 people, Opera above Jaz beach and the beach bars of Kamenovo.
Montenegro nightlife
What I would book
Some festivals are watched from a muddy field and others are danced with your feet in the sand. Sea Dance is firmly the second kind, which is why it’s high on my list of summer dates on the Adriatic. Its official website bills it as Montenegro’s biggest festival, and in 2026 it returned to Bečići beach with the backing of the Budva tourist board.
The 2026 edition
According to the Budva tourist board, the festival ran from 28 to 30 August 2026 on Bečići beach and drew a crowd from more than 100 countries, with local, regional and world-famous acts. The main stage stood just a few steps from the sea, and there was a second stage, Dance Paradise. Entry was free with compulsory advance registration on the festival website, and anyone wanting something more exclusive could buy a VIP ticket.
The line-up
Friday opened with Charlotte de Witte, Hugel, Enrico Sangiuliano and RPR Soundsystem. Saturday was headlined by Dara, introduced by the tourist board as a Eurovision winner, and British hitmaker John Newman, while Marcel Dettmann and Biia played Dance Paradise. Sunday’s finale belonged to Boris Brejcha and Layla Benitez, with regional and international electronic names on the second stage. In short, an electronic line-up with a bit of pop on the Saturday, which suits a beach crowd that drifts in and out of the water.

Bečići beach
The setting is one of the longest beaches on the Budva Riviera, about 2,000 metres, which the Budva tourist board says won a prize in Paris in 1935 as the most beautiful in Europe, and which stretches from Cape Zavala to Đevištinje, crossed by four small streams. Bečići is about 2 km from Budva Old Town along the seafront promenade. During the festival the beach stays a beach by day, so you can mix swimming with the sets.
Planning it
First, register on the official website as soon as it opens, as there’s no entry without it. Then sort out where to stay. Bečići’s hotels are on the festival beach itself, and Budva has more choice a stroll away; I go through them in hotels in Budva. In 2024 the Bar weather station averaged 27.2 °C in August, according to MONSTAT, so expect warm nights too. Flights into Tivat put you around half an hour from the beach. For getting back at dawn, the Foreign Office recommends licensed or app-based taxis and reminds visitors that Montenegro’s drug laws are very strict.

What about 2027?
The Budva tourist board hadn’t published next year’s dates by October 2026, and neither had the festival website. As soon as they appear, I’ll add them here and to the events in Montenegro calendar, alongside the rest of the summer concerts in Montenegro nightlife.
