Four-star hotel in Tivat
Hotel Palma, front row on Tivat's promenade
Hotel Palma is a four-star right on Tivat's seafront promenade, 5 m from the water and looking out over the bay. It has 113 rooms, most with sea views, a spa with a hydromassage pool, Finnish sauna and steam room, a gym and an 86 m private beach with a small public section. You'll find it at Šetalište Iva Vizina 8, a stroll from Porto Montenegro.

- Four-star hotel on Tivat's seafront promenade, 5 m from the sea.
- 113 rooms, most of them looking over the bay.
- Spa with hydromassage pool, sauna and steam room, plus a gym.
- 86 m private beach with a small public section.
To me the Palma is the sensible pick in Tivat if you want a front-row room without Porto Montenegro prices. I'd ask for a sea-view room and make full use of the hotel beach, because being 5 m from the water is exactly what you're paying for.
Before you go
What I would keep in mind
-
01 Most beautiful
Five metres from the water
The hotel's website puts it 5 m from the shore, in the heart of Tivat, overlooking the bay. Most of its 113 rooms face the sea.
-
02 Worth the splurge
A small but complete spa
Hydromassage pool, Finnish sauna, steam bath, relaxation lounge, bucket shower and three massage rooms, plus a gym next to the spa.
-
03 My tip
Part of the beach is public
The Tivat tourist board describes the Palma's beach as private and sandy, with a small public section, sunbeds, changing rooms, showers and toilets.

04 Getting there
Five minutes from the airport
With the airport just 4 km away (roughly a five-minute drive, says the airport operator), and Porto Montenegro is a short walk away.
Tivat
What I would book
If you want a front-row room in Tivat without paying Porto Montenegro prices, the Palma is the first name that comes up. It’s a four-star right on the seafront promenade, 5 m from the water according to its website, with the bay in front and the town behind. It lacks the marina’s polish, but it has something I value more, its own beach at the bottom of the steps.
Rooms and views
The hotel has 113 rooms, and most of them look out to sea. Its website splits them into five types, a standard double, a sea-view double, a superior sea-view double and two sea-view junior suites, one for three people and one for four. As only some of the room names promise a sea view, I’d ask for one in writing when you book, because looking out over the bay is precisely why you’d stay here.
Spa, gym and restaurant
The spa is small but well equipped, with a hydromassage pool, Finnish sauna, steam bath, relaxation lounge, a bucket shower and three massage rooms, plus a gym next door. On the ground floor are the buffet restaurant and lobby bar, and upstairs a lounge bar. The restaurant hall seats up to 200 and there are two meeting rooms, for 50 and 10 people, so the hotel also hosts groups and events. Worth bearing in mind if you’re after total peace and quiet.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Tivat on Expedia and filter by area before price.
The beach
The beach is the Palma’s strongest card. According to its website, the private beach is 86 m long and sits 5 m from the building, with sunbeds and umbrellas. The Tivat tourist board describes it as sandy, with changing rooms, showers and toilets, and notes that a small part is public. If you don’t want to get in the car every day, it’s a real plus. For a change of scene, I cover the rest in Tivat beaches.
Location and practicalities
The hotel is at Šetalište Iva Vizina 8, on the town-centre promenade, a short walk from Porto Montenegro, with its naval museum and the Heroj submarine, and from the restaurants along the Pine. With a spare evening, Gornja Lastva is a few minutes’ drive uphill. With the airport just 4 km away (roughly a five-minute drive, says the airport operator), it’s handy for an early flight home. On top of the room rate, add Tivat’s tourist tax of €1 per person per night; the hotel takes care of the compulsory registration.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in Hotel Palma and pick one that fits your day.
Who is it for?
Anyone after a beach on the doorstep, good views and central Tivat within walking distance, without paying five-star prices. If you’d prefer marina glamour or the quiet of Luštica, I compare the alternatives area by area in hotels in Tivat.
