Three-day passes, 15 minutes from Pristina
Sunny Hill, Pristina's big music festival
Sunny Hill Festival is Pristina's big music festival. It's held at its own venue, Sunny Hill Festival Park at Bërnicë e Poshtme, 15 minutes' drive from the capital, with three-day passes only and cashless payment. The 2026 edition ran from 31 July to 2 August with Katy Perry, Lewis Capaldi and Martin Garrix; the 2027 dates aren't out yet.

- Sunny Hill is Pristina's big music festival, on its own site 15 minutes from the capital.
- In 2026 it ran from 31 July to 2 August, with three-day passes from €165 and a free shuttle from the railway station.
- It's cashless inside, under-16s need an adult and the 2027 dates aren't out yet.
If the line-up grabs you, I'd build the whole trip around it and stay in Pristina. I'd buy the pass the moment it goes on sale, because the cheap ones vanish, and I'd take the free shuttle, which in 2026 left the railway station every ten minutes and spared you the queue at the gates.

What I would keep in mind
-
01 To save money
Buy before the line-up is out
In 2026 the cheapest Believer passes sold out almost at once; after that came Early Bird at €165 and the standard pass at €195, according to the festival's website. Tickets can't be refunded or transferred.
-
02 Money
No cash inside
The festival is cashless. You pay with a topped-up wristband or a debit or credit card, and cash is only taken at the top-up machines. The organisers warn there are no cash machines nearby.

03 Getting there
A free shuttle from the station
In 2026 Trafiku Urban ran free buses from Pristina railway station from 11:40, roughly every ten minutes, with returns from 01:30. Parking costs €60 for the three days.
-
04 Worth the splurge
VIP, if you know which stage you want
VIP in 2026 cost €400 for the C4 stage, €500 for the main stage and €800 for the package covering every VIP area. I'd only pay it for the stage I planned to spend the night at.

05 My tip
Bring photo ID
You have to show ID to swap your ticket for a wristband. The wristband is linked to you and can't be swapped or lent.
What I would book
If there’s one reason to fly to Kosovo for a particular summer weekend, it’s Sunny Hill Festival, Pristina’s big music festival. Here’s what the organisers publish, what the press made of the 2026 edition and how I’d plan it.
What it is and where it happens
The festival’s website calls it Pristina’s largest music festival and one of the biggest in south-eastern Europe. It was founded by Dugagjin Lipa and his family, and the organisers pitch it as Dua Lipa’s personal project. They say it has been shortlisted three times among Europe’s ten best medium-sized festivals and talk of more than 100,000 people per edition, a figure that’s theirs and that I can’t verify. The Kosovan daily Telegrafi called it Kosovo’s biggest music and cultural event in 2026, and I can’t think of anything that comes close.
It has a permanent home, Sunny Hill Festival Park, at Bërnicë e Poshtme, a village the organisers put 15 minutes’ drive from the city. In 2026 there were four stages, The Next Stage, The Satellite, the Sunny Hill Stage, which is the main one, and C4, the electronic stage that runs until dawn. For the city around it, see my guide to Pristina.
The 2026 edition, in figures
It ran from Friday 31 July to Sunday 2 August. The festival announced the dates in June and the Kosovan press repeated them. Katy Perry, Lewis Capaldi and Martin Garrix headlined, with Adam Port and Rampa of Keinemusik, PAWSA, Carlita and Seth Troxler on the electronic side, and Albanian acts such as Dhurata Dora, Ledri Vula, MC Kresha and Lyrical Son. Katy Perry opened on the Friday at around 22:30, and the organisers’ own write-up mentions long tailbacks on the approach roads that first night. That’s the detail I’d remember, because it’s the one that affects you.
Each day started at 13:00 on the two smaller stages, the main stage got going at 18:45 and C4 carried on until 04:30. Past line-ups, according to the website, have included Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Calvin Harris, Shawn Mendes, J Balvin, Stormzy, Peggy Gou and Fatboy Slim, so the calibre of the bill is no one-off.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Pristina on Expedia and filter by area before price.
When is the 2027 festival?
I don’t know, and I’m not going to guess a weekend. As of 12 October 2026 the website just signs off with “see you next year”. When the date is announced I’ll add it to events in Kosovo, and if you want to plan the rest of a summer trip around it, there are ideas in Kosovo in summer.
Tickets and prices
The festival only sells three-day passes, as a wristband for the whole weekend. In 2026 the first tier, Believer, sold out almost straight away. After that came Early Bird at €165, the standard pass at €195 and three VIP levels, €400 for the C4 stage, €500 for the main stage and €800 for the package covering every VIP area. There are bundles for three and five people. Tickets can’t be transferred, resold or refunded, and you need photo ID to swap yours for a wristband.
Over-16s get in on their own; under-16s need an adult over 18. Inside it’s cashless, with a topped-up wristband or a card, and the organisers warn there are no cash machines nearby, so I’d draw euros in Pristina first. Bottled water is sold at the bars, and there are first-aid points and lost property.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in Sunny Hill Festival and pick one that fits your day.
How I’d do it
I’d stay in Pristina and use the shuttle. In 2026 it was free, run by Trafiku Urban, and left Pristina railway station from 11:40, roughly every ten minutes, with returns from 01:30. Given the first-night tailbacks and parking at €60 for the three days, or €100 for VIP, I can’t see the point of driving.
I’d book a room as soon as the date is out, as the organisers themselves advise; the areas to look at are in hotels in Pristina. And for the nights off, see Pristina nightlife.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Pristina on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
