Brezovica is the only working tourist centre in Sharr National Park, according to its directorate, but without official data on prices or runs I wouldn't plan a ski holiday blind. I'd go with accommodation already booked and check on the lifts before leaving Pristina or Skopje.

The village and the slopes aren't in the same spot
OpenStreetMap places Brezovica village in the valley and the ski centre higher up, about 5 km away as the crow flies. Check which one you're booking.

03 Getting there
From Prizren via Prevalla, from Ferizaj via the north
On OpenStreetMap's road layout, you reach Brezovica from Prizren over the Prevalla pass or from Ferizaj up the Štrpce valley.

Insurance that covers skiing
Your GHIC isn't valid in Kosovo, the FCDO points out. For skiing, travel insurance with winter sports cover isn't optional.

What I would book
Brezovica is the name that comes up whenever someone looks for skiing in Kosovo, and with good reason. But it’s worth arriving clear on what can be stated and what can’t, because official information is thin here and the unsourced kind online is plentiful. I’ll give you the first and flag the second.
The village and the mountain
Brezovica (Brezovicë) is one of the 16 settlements of Štrpce, in the Ferizaj region. The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK) counted 942 people there in the 2024 census, against just 68 in 2011. OpenStreetMap puts the village on the valley floor and the ski centre higher up the mountain, about 5 km away as the crow flies. That’s a practical detail that matters when booking, because sleeping down or up changes your day.
The whole area sits inside Sharr National Park. Štrpce contributes 15,210 of its 39,000 ha, and the same municipality holds Livadhishte glacial lake, at 2,173 m, the largest in the park.
What does the park say about the resort?
In its natural values document, the Environmental Protection Agency’s park directorate singles out Brezovica as a zone for winter sports tourism and weekend trips. And it adds a line I think is key, calling it the only place in the park with tourist facilities that are organised and working. In other words, of all the areas the park sets aside for tourism, Brezovica is the one with infrastructure already in place.
What the paper doesn’t give is what you need to plan. No number of runs, no list of open lifts, no season, no prices. There’s no official operator website publishing them, and on 10 October 2026 the Government’s tourism website was still offline for rebuilding. That’s why this page has no numbers for them. What circulates on passes and hours comes from aggregators and forums, and I can’t verify it.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Brezovica on Expedia and filter by area before price.
Getting there
OpenStreetMap shows two roads up. From Prizren you climb the Lumbardhi valley and the Prevalla pass, then drop to Brezovica. From Pristina and Ferizaj you come in from the north, up the Štrpce valley. I couldn’t find official bus timetables to the resort.
The FCDO rates Kosovo’s roads as no better than fair, worse in the countryside and in bad weather, and says to avoid driving after dark. On a snowy mountain road, driving on the right in a car you may not know, I’d set off in daylight with the vehicle properly kitted out.
Insurance, health and altitude
Before heading up, two points that do have a source. Kosovo isn’t covered by the GHIC, the FCDO confirms, so a fall on the slopes is your bill unless your policy includes winter sports. It also mentions altitude sickness in mountain areas. What I’ve found on hospitals and emergencies is on healthcare in Kosovo.
If you are short on time, see the best tours in Brezovica and pick one that fits your day.
Brezovica in summer
The resort isn’t the whole story. Once the snow melts, Brezovica makes a good base for walking the Štrpce side of the Sharr, with Livadhishte lake and the areas the park wants to protect, such as Bistra, around its highest summit. To compare it with Kosovo’s other snow options, see skiing in Kosovo.
To sleep close to everything, search places to stay in Brezovica on Booking.com and filter by area before price.
