The San Marino casino, Giochi del Titano at Rovereta

Plenty of people search for the San Marino casino expecting it to be on the main square, between the towers and the Palazzo Pubblico. It isn’t. The country’s only casino, Giochi del Titano, is down at Rovereta, near the Italian border. I’m covering it as what it is, practical information, because this guide isn’t here to talk you into gambling and I wouldn’t list it among the things to do on a trip to San Marino.

What Giochi del Titano is

It’s a company founded on 2 May 2007 whose sole shareholder is the state of San Marino, with 100% of the shares. Gambling in the country is overseen by the Ente di Stato dei Giochi, which holds the exclusive right to run lotteries, betting and games and also polices them. Put simply, when you walk in here you’re playing at a state-owned house.

The building groups several rooms. According to its website, the Wengè is the entrance, the Romeo holds 240 slot machines, the Diamond brings together more machines and a bar, the American Games room, opened in 2015, has the blackjack, roulette and poker-variant tables, and GT Poker, opened on 23 April 2011, seats up to 200 players. The Seven restaurant is inside too, open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

What are the hours, and who can get in?

It opens every day. Slot machines run from 14:00 to 6:00 and table games from 21:00 to 3:00. To get in you must be of age and show an identity document, because there’s compulsory registration at the entrance. The website also offers a free membership card that speeds that step up. It says nothing about a dress code or an entry fee, and I won’t claim what it doesn’t publish. There are smoking and non-smoking areas.

Getting to Rovereta

Rovereta is a curazia of Serravalle, the most populous castello, which holds much of the country’s industrial land. There’s more context in Rovereta and Serravalle. By car, the casino explains that from the A14 you leave at Rimini Sud and follow signs for San Marino, then just before the border, level with Falciano, turn right and, once through the underpass, right again. From inside the country you cross the border at Dogana, join the SS72 and turn right at the Falciano sign.

Public transport is fiddlier. The casino’s website gives the Rovereta Cap. stop, about three minutes’ walk away, but lists route numbers that haven’t appeared on the AASS network since March 2026, so I won’t repeat them. What I do know is that AASS line 47 ends at Rovereta and that the SMUVI on-demand bus keeps going until 1:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. I explain how it works in getting around San Marino. From the old town, at the hours the tables are open, the realistic options are a car or a SMUVI booked well ahead.

Responsible gambling, the part I will recommend

The casino’s own website admits that each slot machine produces random results and that a win can’t be predicted. I think it’s the most honest line on the whole site, and I’m repeating it as it stands. No system or winning streak changes that.

If gambling is hurting you or someone close to you, the Ente di Stato dei Giochi runs a service in the same Diamond building, on the second floor in a discreet area, free, open to everyone and anonymous, with professionals you can see in person or ring on 0549 875883. There’s also a San Marino freephone first-contact line, 800-788883, on weekdays between 9:00 and 21:00. I couldn’t confirm whether it works from a UK mobile, so I’d note the landline too, along with the helpline back home.

My view

San Marino has far better things to do after dark, and I cover them in San Marino nightlife. If you go anyway, take a fixed amount, leave the credit card behind and walk out when it’s spent. The one reason that would take me into the building without playing is the Mementi literary series, on Wednesdays in October and November at 18:30, free to attend. And if you’re travelling with children, this isn’t a plan for them, as under-18s can’t enter the gaming rooms.
